Chapter 63
Do what is not doing, undertake what is no undertaking, taste what has no taste.
Great or small, many or few, repay resentment with virtue.
Plan the hard while it is easy; do the great while it is small.
The hard things of the world must begin in the easy; the great things of the world must begin in the small.
That is why the sage never does great things, and so can achieve his greatness.
Light promises are sure to earn little trust; finding much easy is sure to bring much hardship.
That is why even the sage treats things as hard, and so in the end has no hardship.
